July 25, 2020 - Pearson Jr. scores Top 10 finish in Dirt Track Bank Go 50 at I-80
Thursday night brought Earl Pearson Jr. and 45 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors to I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) to kick off the Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals weekend with the Dirt Track Bank Go 50. Falling shy of a transfer spot in his heat race with a eighth place finish, Pearson Jr. transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Coming one spot shy with a fourth place outing, Earl was forced to rely on a provisional into the $12,000-to-win A-Main. On Friday evening for two rounds of heat races, Earl held his spot for all 10-laps of his first heat to place fifth. Jumping up three spots in the second round to record a runner-up finish behind Jimmy Owens, Pearson Jr. sat 15th overall in passing points, locking him into Saturday night’s Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals.

With $53,000 on the line, Earl Pearson Jr. brought out the first caution of the race on lap 15 with terminal engine trouble.

July 19, 2020 - Pair of 11th place finishes with LOLMDS in Illinois and Missouri
On Friday night Earl Pearson Jr. followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the NAPA Know How 50. With 39 cars on hand, Pearson Jr. came in second fastest in his group behind Kolby Vandenbergh before placing second in his heat behind Tyler Erb. Coming one spot shy of a Top-10 finish in the feature, Earl dropped four spots in the 50-lapper to register an 11th place outing.

The following night at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the 28th annual Show-Me 100 presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, Earl fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish. Streaking to a 12-lap consolation victory, Pearson Jr. locked into the 17th-starting position for the $20,000-to-win A-Main. Returning on Sunday afternoon for the CMH Diamond Nationals, Pearson Jr. notched a second place finish in his heat behind Billy Moyer Jr., which positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the $12,000-to-win finale. With Mother Nature delaying the feature, Earl brought out the first caution of the race on lap-12 that saw him retire early. He was credited with a 25th place outing.

July 13, 2020 - EPJ edges Josh Rice in thriller at Florence Speedway

In the closest finish in Series history, Pearson drove the Lucas Oil No. 1 P&W Sales/ Drive4Etch.com/ Clements Racing Engine/ Black Diamond Chassis House Car across the finish line just .002 seconds ahead of track regular, Josh Rice.

“He [Rice] was up there on the cushion and when you are out there in the lead you don’t know where to go,” Pearson said in Victory Lane. “We found a line through the middle of the racetrack. He [Rice] did a heck of a job and drove the wheels off that car tonight. He’s a good kid, I love racing with him. He drives everybody clean and I respect the heck out of him,” said the 4-time Series champion.

Drawing 33 cars for the General Tire Summer Sizzler Nationals, Pearson Jr. followed up the fastest time in his qualifying group with a 10-lap heat race victory. Starting the feature in second, Earl faded back to fifth early but began closing in on the leaders just past the halfway point.

Tracking down race-leader Josh Rice amid lapped-traffic in the final 10 circuits, Pearson Jr. slide around Rice in the final corner and held off his charge at the line to capture the $12,000 victory. Zack Dohm, Kyle Bronson, and Trevor Landrum rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

“All the guys back home watching on TV and all my family and friends, my son Trey, I’m sure they’re jumping up and down because we ain’t had a lot to cheer for this year or even late last year,” Pearson added. “We’ll take it here tonight and hopefully we can keep it going.”

Saturday night’s General Tire Summer Sizzler Nationals finale at Florence Speedway fell victim to Mother Nature.

On Monday night, the LOLMDS tour took the team to 300 Raceway in Farley, Iowa. With 27 entrants on hand for the Truck Country 50, Pearson locked his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main via a sixth-place finish in his heat race. Starting 16th on the grid, Pearson fell to a 19th place finish in the 50-lapper.

July 4, 2020 - Pair of 11th place finishes with LOLMDS over Fourth of July weekend
On Friday night Earl Pearson Jr. traveled to Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) piloting the Black Diamond Race Cars No. 1 Late Model for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned program. The following night at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the Independence 50, Pearson Jr. came in seventh in his heat before placing sixth in his B-Main. Relying on a provisional into the main event, Earl charged the field 11 spots to register an 11th place outing.
