With the 74-car field split into two separate groups for a pair of preliminary features, Earl edged his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With preliminary results on Wednesday setting the grid for heat races on Thursday evening, Pearson Jr. came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth-place finish, transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place third or better to make the $127,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream, Earl logged a sixth-place outing. He earned a spot into one of two scrambles where the race winner earned a spot into the show but fell short with a second-place finish.
For another round of preliminary features on Friday, Earl recorded a sixth-place finish in his heat race, sending him into the consolation event. Locking in the Top 4, Pearson Jr. fell one spot short with a fifth-place finish.
Following a sixth-place finish in his heat race on Saturday afternoon, Pearson Jr. secured his spot into the $126,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream with a second-place finish in his B-Main behind Mike Marlar. Starting in 23rd, Earl was an early retiree from the 100-lapper on lap 66.
