Alberson grabs Comp Cams victory in Ronny Adams Memorial finale at Boothill

Garrett Alberson claimed his first win of the year and his first-career Ronny Adams Memorial title on Saturday night at Boothill Speedway.

The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model win was worth $10,000 behind the wheel of his Ken & Beth Roberts-owned No. 58 Nutrien Ag Solutions / Roemer Machine & Welding / Mesilla Valley Transportation / Black Diamond Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“That was a lot of fun racing with B.J. (Robinson) and Billy (Moyer). I was a little worried that the track was gonna be a little bit bottom-dominant, but you could really move around a lot more than I thought. It was just kind of like positioning yourself. That was really fun,” Alberson said. “To win a race in Ronny’s (Adams) memory means a lot. I was fortunate to know him, and he was a great guy.

“This Roberts Motorsports team is great, and it’s a blessing to get be a part of it.”

Garrett Alberson trekked south to Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) on Friday afternoon the pilot the Roberts Motorsports No. 58 Black Diamond Chassis Late Model for the fourth annual Ronny Adams Memorial.

With 41 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) on the grounds for two-day event, Alberson topped the speed charts in time trials with a 13.495-second lap before placing first in his heat race.

Despite early contact in the feature that relegated him to the tail, Garrett rallied to a fourth-place finish in the 30-lapper. He chased Logan Martin, Hunter Rasdon, and Rick Rickman to the checkers with B.J. Robinson coming in fifth.

On Saturday, Garrett secured his spot into the finale with a second-place run in his heat race. Overtaking race-long leader Billy Moyer on lap 35, Alberson ran away with his first win of the season and fourth-career CCSDS triumph. He collected the $10,000 prize 3.1 seconds ahead of Moyer with B.J. Robinson, Cade Dillard, and Billy Moyer Jr. rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
